Fire Chief


Chief P. L. Graeber

Chief Graeber started her emergency services career in 1987 working as a dispatcher for police and fire facilities in California. She received her initial Incident Command System (ICS) training from the California Department of Forestry (CDF). She earned Management and Supervision Certifications from Butte College. After dispatching police, fire and ambulance for many years, she became a supervisor in charge of the 9-1-1 dispatch center. Her duties included planning, budget and personnel management. Chief Graeber is originally from the State of Washington and returned in 1993. She started with Mason County Fire Protection District #3 in 1994 as a volunteer. Her duties at the time included the position of Publc Information Officer, one of the positions she also held in California. In 1998, she began working as the Secretary to the Board of Fire Commissioners. Chief Graeber became a career FireFighter/Emergency medical technician for MCFPD#3 in 2001 when the District progressed from an all-volunteer department, to a combination department of paid and volunteer staff. In 2002 she was hired as Chief.





Position 1 - Randy Grauer
Current term: 2016 through 2021

Randy was elected as commissioner for Mason County Fire District 3 in November, 2015. He has owned property in Grapeview since 1982, and he and his wife built their retirement home here in 1991. They have lived here full time since 2008. Randy served as a pastor of Lutheran churches for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 2008. He has extensive service in community service, having served for many years on non-profit boards and community organizations.



Position 2 - Nancy Montgomery
Current Term: 2012 through 2017

Nancy has been a property owner in Grapeview since 1980 and she and her family have been full time
residents since 1996. She has been actively involved in community service and spent over 30 years in
Administrative Management and Customer Service with insurance companies, insurance brokerage
firms and insurance agencies and was licensed as an agent in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
and the State of Washington for Property/Casualty and Life & Health.





Position 3 - Mike Creighton
Current Term: 2014 through 2019

Mike has served as a Mason Fire District 3 Commissioner since December 2011 and as Commission Chair since January 2012.  His family has owned property in Mason County since 1968 and he and his wife have owned a home in Grapeview since 2007.  Mike graduated from the U of W in business, served in the U S Army and spent his professional career in the insurance industry as an underwriter and broker.  Mike has been involved in community service most of his adult life.  He has 20+ years of non-profit board experience as well as 20+ years experience as an elected local official serving on a school board, city council and as a fire commissioner.
