Kids learning from Nash Farm employees

Nash Farm Group Tours & Field Trips

The best way to learn about history is by experiencing it firsthand. Teach your students about the history of Grapevine and Texas by visiting Nash Farm. As the oldest intact farmstead in Tarrant County, Nash Farm is a true gem, offering insight into the way Nash Family and other settlers used to live. Students can learn about survival needs like water and food sources, changes in technology (evident in the windmill and farming implements), with hands-on activities and events that support learning goals.

Group Tours and Field Trips must be booked at least 30 days in advance of the tour. To begin the booking process, please fill out the interactive form below. To finalize the booking process, groups must provide credit card information and have a deposit held in reserve. Your group will be contacted for the credit card information at the time that the tour is booked. If it becomes necessary to re-schedule the tour, the date that is desired must be arranged with and approved by the Nash Farm Manager 48 hours prior to the tour. Tours that are not rescheduled 48 hours prior to the tour will forfeit the deposit. Tours that are canceled for any reason will forfeit the deposit.

Group tours must have a minimum of 25 participants and a maximum of 100 participants. The tour fee is $5 per person for ages 3 and up. There is an additional activity fee of $3 per person for group tours who choose to do the marble make-and-take activity. Tours can be scheduled Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The Pole Barn Pavilion is available for students to enjoy self-provided sack lunches after your tour, at no additional cost to the tour. All groups are encouraged to dress according to the weather and are advised that most of Nash Farm tours are conducted outside, as the weather allows. All groups are encouraged to bring water, as drinking water is not provided.

The Grapevine Heritage Foundation partners with the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau to make field trips possible for schools. This includes the arrangements for the farmhands and guides who teach the students for the day. For field trips, transportation to and from Nash Farm is required, as are chaperones for the children. Nash Farm has hosted groups of all ages, from small groups to large groups. Although the tours fit in very well with 3rd and 7th grade social studies TEKs, the tours address enduring understandings that cross all grade and subject areas.

For information and questions concerning school tours, contact Kimberly Prack, KPrack@GrapevineTexasUSA.com.
