The Margarita Capital of Texas Celebrates 40 years

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (May 1, 2025) – Esparza’s Restaurante Mexicano, a Grapevine original located at 124 E. Worth St., is celebrating a huge milestone in May 2025. For forty years, Esparza's has offered an inviting atmosphere, mouthwatering Tex-Mex dishes and iconic margaritas.

El Presidente Steve Brown shared a few notable facts about the longtime establishment:

  • Esparza's Restaurant Mexicano first opened on May 1, 1985.
  • It’s located in a renovated late 1800s home in the Grapevine Historic District.
  • It’s the official Margarita Capital of Texas® due to the volume of margaritas sold annually.
  • Five employees have been with the restaurant for more than 30 years.
  • Ten employees have celebrated more than 25 years of service.
  • An additional 13 employees have worked there for more than 15 years.
  • General Manager Gabriel Diaz began his career at Esparza's more than 30 years ago as a teenage busboy.


Esparza's will commemorate its 40th year with a special all-day Happy Hour on May 1, 2025.
